FAQ

Gridpoint Atlas® 3.5 is the exciting software developed by Captain Bruce Cathie
and Rod Maupin.  This software provides the ability to plot a map and overlay
the World Grid® onto it.  It makes use of the over forty-five years of research that
Cathie has done into the Earth’s World Grid® system, its associated harmonics, and the
UFO enigma, and the eighteen years of computer work done by Maupin.

This is a one-of-a-kind product that has never before been offered to the public.

The software includes a five CD-ROM map database that has worldwide coverage.  This is not a street-level map database, as one does not exist for the entire world.  However, it is sufficient enough to allow you to plot maps of your area, overlay the grid onto them, and print them out.  While the software DOES NOT work with GPS devices, you can take a printed map, along with a printed list of coordinates, and then use them with your own hand-held GPS device to locate grid points in your area.

We hope that this software provides a vehicle for bringing this hidden science to the public.  It is only through the education and changing of people's awareness that this world will ever change into something far greater than it currently is.  Quite frankly, this hidden science has been kept from the public for years.  Far too long in our opinion.  This is a real travesty.  We know that if this knowledge was fully exploited it would bring on enormous change in the world.  We look forward to the day when this happens.

The user of this software is assumed to have a basic knowledge of maps, and the concepts of latitude and longitude.  While the software’s Help and manual both contain a glossary, it is not meant to be a textbook for teaching map reading or theory.  In addition, it is assumed that the user will have some knowledge of Captain Bruce Cathie's work, either through his many books or lectures on the subject.  The program Help and manual is not meant to teach harmonic theory, the structure of the world energy grid, or relate the years of research of Captain Cathie. However, it does accurately document the software and its functionality.

Gridpoint Atlas® makes heavy use of both plane and spherical trigonometry in performing its calculations.  While having knowledge of trigonometry can be helpful in understanding how the software works, a user is not required to know anything beyond the definitions of degrees, minutes, and seconds (these definitions are provided in the Glossary).  Knowledge of physics, calculus, or any higher level mathematics is not required, nor is it utilized in the program.

Gridpoint Atlas® 3.5 has the following minimum hardware requirements:

IBM-compatible PC equipped with an Intel Pentium processor
Microsoft Windows® 95 or higher (98 / Me / 2000 / 2003 / XP / Vista)
128 Megabytes of RAM
50 Megabytes of hard drive space
Monitor set to 1024 x 768 resolution

Note: Considerably more hard drive space will be required if the map libraries are copied to the hard drive during installation.

***** This software is not available for the Apple Macintosh® *****

Testing

Gridpoint Atlas® 3.5 has been tested on Windows 98, 2000, 2003, XP, and Vista.

The Gridpoint Atlas® map database was gathered from two different sources.  The first source is the "ESRI Data and Maps, 2002 Edition" CDs, where selected maps of the United States were taken.

The second source is NIMA's "Vector Map Level 0" product, which was formerly called "Digital Chart of the World".  This database is the most comprehensive and contiguous map database in existence that has worldwide coverage. These map files were in the Vector Product Format used by the U.S. Military, and were converted to the ESRI Shapefile format for use in this product.

All of the map data distributed with this package is royalty-free.  The decision was made to only include royalty-free map data in order to make the software reasonably-priced and make it accessible to the largest number of people possible.
